Registrations are now open for Foresighting Forum 2018

Energy Consumers Australia’s annual Foresighting Forum is our flagship event that brings together senior representatives from across the energy sector to work on the issues affecting consumers and small business.

The central theme for Foresighting Forum 2018 is “Take charge: Shifting power to consumers in the using, making and trading of energy”.

Date: 28 February to 1 March, 2018
Venue: Aerial Function Centre, University of Technology, Sydney.
Confirmed speakers include:

• John Pierce, Chair of the Australian Energy Market Commission
• Peter Strong, Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Small Business of Australia
• Gavin Dufty, Manager Policy and Research, St Vincent de Paul Society

Over 150 participants will explore, from a consumer perspective, the opportunities and challenges for consumers to manage their energy bills now, as well as the policies and reforms that over the longer-term will be necessary to make energy affordable and reliable, as well as to spur innovation.

Day One will start at the ground level, unpacking the issues consumers are facing now, and moving on to exploring the role that energy efficiency and energy management technology, services and support can and must play in the successful transformation of the sector.

Day Two will zoom out, exploring the linkages between new opportunities for consumers, including the potential for selling and trading energy, with the work being undertaken through the Energy Council to safeguard reliability and affordability.
