Having had to cancel our 2020 conference due to COVID, the EEA is delighted to extend an invitation to you to be a part of our 2021 event in Wellington on 30 June & 1 July.

Our 2021 theme; ‘Engineering, Technology and Innovation – In a Low Carbon Environment’ is set in the context of COVID global economic and climate change challenges.

Our world has changed, in what feels like the blink of an eye. For many, it has been devastating and for all, it has been a significant reset. No less for New Zealand, and with a new incoming Government strongly signaling intent to #BuildBackBetter – there is plenty of work to do.

While aspirational policies are great, it is the implementation of them that is the real measure of their success. We see delivering on these during the next two decades as very challenging. And absolutely key to success is using technology and driving innovation. Another key area is skills development.

What is needed to support the rebuild of all our economies is growing collective knowledge and understanding of technology, innovation and risk in order to achieve our #buildbacketter targets. We also need to collaborate and share information, strategies and tactics to seize opportunities and mitigate risks.

This will be the focus of the EEA’s 2021 conference – Engineering, Technology and Innovation – In a Low Carbon Environment. We will be taking a long hard look at what is required by the electricity sector to roll up our sleeves and build back better.

As a hub for the electricity supply sector, the EEA is bringing together thought leaders from across the energy industry in its EEA2021 Conference to showcase future thinking on these highly relevant topics. ‘Engineering, Technology and Innovation – In a Low Carbon Environment’ will be a key forum to ‘brainstorm’ solutions and ways of implementing new aspirational policies.

At this stage – and in efforts to mitigate any unforeseen circumstances – we are planning an onsite, in-person event with elements of online content for those that are unable to join us!

The event also includes a comprehensive Trade Exhibition – a great opportunity for businesses from around the world and NZ to showcase technology and services, people and products, and for attendees to get ‘hands-on’ with the solutions you need.

The conference is the power industry’s largest collaborative forum in New Zealand, focused on delivering clarity on complex issues, practical support and solutions, and market intelligence to industry stakeholders. It also provides an excellent networking opportunity, especially in this time of change. A role of EEA’s is to nurture and grow our industry capability, and future engineering and safety leaders who are going to be the future innovators, influencers, and change-makers. The 2021 Conference provides a key forum to grow collective knowledge and understanding of engineering, technology, risks and solutions and their impact on our industry.

As interested, curious and enthusiastic members of the electricity supply community – you simply cannot miss it!

The Conference programme will deliver thought provoking keynote presentations, practical technical papers, and interactive panel discussions for attendees. It is a ‘must do’ for your professional development.

Put the dates in your diary 30 June & 1 July and join us at the EEA2021 Conference.

Lots more to come so follow us on the EEA2021 Conference via our LinkedIn page. I look forward to seeing you in Wellington.

8th Hazardous Areas Conference @ Brisbane
Jul 7 – Jul 8 all-day

CALL FOR PAPERS

Are you involved in designing or applying electrical equipment for service in hazardous areas?  We are looking for a number of speakers to present papers at this important industry event. Register your interest today!

This conference has been created to meet and exchange ideas for those concerned with the safe use of electrical/mechanical equipment and instrumentation in hazardous, flammable or explosive atmospheres, thus preventing accidents and injuries in the workplace. It will serve to highlight technologies, best practices, and accelerate improvements in standards and regulations. It will also reduce the economic impact of accidents through the prevention of explosions and fires due to ignition of flammable vapours, dust clouds or even static electricity. You will be sharing your experience and know-how with engineers, technicians and other technical professionals who are all eager to eliminate accidents and injuries in the workplace.

We are seeking speakers who can talk about their experiences in the field, provide overviews of the applicable industry regulations/legislation and offer case studies and examples from industry. All presenters receive complimentary registration to attend the conference. To express your interest in presenting, simply send a short 100-word abstract, outlining your proposed topic, and how delegates will benefit from your 45 minute presentation.

Enlit Australia 2021 @ Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre
Jul 21 – Jul 22 all-day
Talk2 International are excited to announce the relaunch Power ± Utilities Australia as Enlit Australia, as part of the global rebrand by Clarion Energy. Unveiled at European Utility Week in Paris, France, Clarion Energy announced Enlit as the world’s only complete energy event. It will bring clarity to the global energy transition and define the roles of all those involved in powering the next generation of the industry.

Enlit is here to light a spark, to fuel the change, to strive for improvement, for the future of our industry and our planet.

Enlit Australia is designed to cover the strategies and solutions necessary for companies to meet the challenges of an industry in transition.  The event covers the industry from end to end – generation both renewables and fossil fuels, transmission/distribution through to retail. This reflects a business that needs to take a whole system approach, necessitated by the rapid introduction of renewables into the system. And, this also mirrors the new reality for suppliers to the industry, who now have touchpoints along the entire value chain.

The over-arching theme for 2021 is Decarbonisation- Decentralisation – Digitalisation. The critical strategies to address the energy transition will be discussed and analysed in several blocks in our Business Strategy Theatre and these include a Financial and Investment Strategy block, an Energy Transition/New Energy Mix block and a Customer and Retail Strategies block.

Our three exhibit hall knowledge theatres – Generation, Transmission & Distribution and Utility Retail Transformation- reflect the need for an end to end approach. These sessions will feature content presented by industry experts and focus on the practical implementation of solutions needed to meet the strategic imperatives being driven by the ongoing energy transition.

Our industry roundtables, VIP breakfast forums and our INITIATE start-up zone were among the special event features that were singled out by 2019 attendees as particularly useful and will be expanded in 2020.

Visitors to Enlit Australia will enjoy a truly inspirational and immersive experience with content created and curated specifically for tomorrow’s new energy professionals; while Enlit Australia exhibitors will have unprecedented access to the people driving the future of the industry and the ability to reach a global audience under one brand.
