Informa Australia is delighted to announce the forthcoming National Waste to Energy Conference which will be held on the 18 – 19 June 2019 at the Swissotel Sydney. The conference aims to explore the next generation of waste to energy technologies.

As China’s imposed ban on the importation of lower-grade waste and energy prices continue to climb, Australia must explore the new developments in waste to energy technologies to assist in lessening the pressure of these dual crises.

Currently there are over 30 proposed waste to energy projects proposed in Australia and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation have identified an opportunity for up to $5 billion of new investment between 2015 and 2020 in the domestic bioenergy and waste to energy sector. However, waste to energy project developers need to find ways to engage with the community and local councils in order to ensure success.

Informa’s National Waste to Energy Conference proposes two days of in-depth discussions around these developments and aims to explore the challenges and opportunities involved in waste to energy technology.

Topics will include:

  • Case studies on current and proposed waste to energy projects
  • Funding opportunities
  • Policy landscape
  • Community engagement
  • Technology outlook
  • International development
