Information:

Russell Place, a 65 year old underground zone substation owned by CitiPower, takes supply from the Richmond Terminal Station to ultimately supply individual distribution substations located in nearby city blocks. It has left an important mark in history as the last Melbourne substation to supply and sell low voltage DC to commercial customers as late as 2003. Participants will meet in Russell Place halfway between Little-Collins Street and Bourke Street, Melbourne. Please note as this is an operating substation with live electrical equipment. Access includes a number of flights of stairs. No children under 14 permitted. No pram/stroller or wheelchair access. Individual registration to be confirmed according to Engineers Australia and Citipower/Powercor requirements.
