Formed in 2025, we bring together Hylec Energy Solutions and Thew & McCann (TMAC Group), uniting two established Australian businesses with complementary strengths. Our story traces back to the 1940s, when Thew & McCann began as a small electrical supply business in Sydney. As Australia’s infrastructure expanded through the post-war decades, the business grew alongside it, building a presence across multiple states and sectors. Over time, it evolved into TMAC Group, known for its practical mindset and its “Active Innovation” philosophy, developing solutions shaped by real-world field conditions.
In parallel, HYLEC built a strong reputation for engineering depth and manufacturing excellence. Based in Brisbane, it became known for producing quality-driven equipment tailored to Australian conditions, with a focus on durability, compliance and performance in demanding environments.
