Celebrating 30 Years – APT Transmission & Distribution Magazine

It is with great pride and sincere gratitude that we celebrate 30 years of APT Publications’ Transmission & Distribution Magazine.

Reaching this milestone is far more than a numerical achievement. It represents three decades of commitment to the electricity supply industry, the strength of the relationships we have built along the way, and the remarkable people, companies and innovations that have shaped Australia and New Zealand’s energy landscape.

Since its first edition in 1996, Transmission & Distribution Magazine has been dedicated to supporting the professionals who design, build, operate and maintain the infrastructure that keeps our communities and industries powered. Written by engineers, for engineers, T&D has remained focused on delivering relevant technical knowledge, industry insight and practical information to the people working across the electricity supply chain.

Over the past 30 years, the industry has undergone extraordinary change. From the development and expansion of transmission and distribution networks to the emergence of renewable generation, smart grid technologies, energy storage, digitalisation and the changing demands of a more electrified future, T&D has evolved alongside the industry it serves.

While the technology and challenges may have changed, our purpose has remained consistent: to connect our readers with the knowledge, expertise and solutions that are helping shape the future of the electricity sector.

IT’S BEEN A PRIVILEGE

Throughout T&D’s history, we have been privileged to work with some of the leading manufacturers, suppliers, utilities, consultants, contractors, engineers and industry organisations across Australia and New Zealand. Their expertise, innovation and willingness to share knowledge have been central to the success and longevity of the magazine.

Our journey would also not have been possible without the continued support of our readers. From engineers and asset managers to consultants, contractors, purchasing professionals and senior decision-makers, you have made T&D part of your working lives for three decades. Your continued readership and engagement are what give the magazine its purpose.

We are particularly proud of the long-standing relationships we have developed with industry associations, including API, APTUG, AUSPTA, CIGRE, EESA, EEA NZ, IDC Technologies and TIC, whose contribution and support have helped strengthen the connection between T&D and the broader electricity supply industry.

As we celebrate our 30th year, we also recognise that this milestone belongs to the wider industry community. Every article contributed, project shared, product introduced, technical insight published and relationship developed has played a part in the story of T&D.

As we look towards the future, T&D will continue to provide a trusted platform for technical knowledge, industry discussion and connection between the people and organisations driving progress across the electricity supply industry.

Thirty years is a significant milestone, but it is also an opportunity to look forward.

On behalf of the entire APT Publications team, we would like to sincerely thank our readers, advertisers, contributors, industry associations and partners for your support over the past three decades.

Thank you for being part of the T&D journey and for helping us reach this remarkable milestone.

Here’s to 30 years of Transmission & Distribution Magazine — and to the exciting future of our industry.
